June Poplar Beach Newsletter

Park Manager Announcement

We are very pleased to welcome John and Dianne Moskwa back to Poplar Beach Campground!

John and Dianne will assume the Park Manager position effective Monday, June 13th. We are happy to report, the shower house will resume weekday opening 7:00am - 11:00pm on Monday.

Message from PBCOC Board President, Crystal McCurdy

“I would like to say thank you to the entire PBCOC Board of Directors for all of your tireless work over the last few weeks. Each member of the board went above and beyond to cover the duties needed to be done in the park, on top of their regular jobs and home lives. If you see a board member in the next couple of weeks, please say a thank you to show appreciation for all their work to keep our park running!”

Thank you to our member volunteers!

The Board would like to extend HUGE kudos to all the member volunteers that have worked so hard over the last few weeks in the park. A special thank you to Don and Marlene Schmidt who are also very instrumental in the smooth operation of the park in the last few weeks. Don and Marlene jumped in to cover chores and duties that needed to be completed when others were unable. The BOD is grateful for your help!

React Bin Reminder

A friendly reminder the Poplar Beach Campground forms part of the Resort Village of Wakaw Lake, as such, the React bins located within the park are provided by the Resort Village. Everyone must do their part to ensure responsible refuse and recycling. Sharing the below information from Pam Hilkewich, RVWL Administrator.

Proper waste and recycling help our village be good stewards of our environment as well as good stewards of our financial resources.

Where does everything go:

  1. Metal – large container bin beside village garage.

  2. Carboard and paper products – blue bins marked “Flattened Cardboard”

Remember to flatten the cardboard to make room for more.

  1. Tin cans – blue recycling bins in Wakaw by the Rec Centre.

  2. Glass – Sarcan in Wakaw.

  3. Plastic – sorry no local option.

  4. Tires – you will have to find your own recycle option.

  5. Household garbage – blue waste bins

  6. Larger items, building products, furniture, carpets etc need to be hauled to the Hoodoo or Wakaw landfill/transfer stations. Please do not fill our bins with these materials.

  7. Branches, grass clippings, leaves and cut up trees (4 ft lengths) can be hauled to the Hoodoo landfill at no cost.

Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Relocating will be at the purchasers expense.
